Soprano Saxophone

‘classical’ appellation for one type of Soprano Saxophone?
I’ve seen several conformations of Soprano Saxophone. One had a curved body and a wide tapered upright bell. The one I want to know the “proper” name for is the straight-bodied sort which most resembles a clarinet. I’d like to know what nomenclature might designate this type of saxophone in a score. Thank you
They are both the exact same instrument, Petr. Some makes of soprano saxophone are curved like the rest of the sax family, although most of them are straight like a clarinet or oboe. The soprano sax doesn’t actually need to be curved because of its size (the curvature on the lower members of the family being there to ease playing and to bring the keys within easy reach of the player). The curved soprano sax models (which always look a little silly and small to me) are just the same as the straight ones and no special name is given to either variation.
