“totemo genki desu” (polite form)

totemo: “very”
genki: fine/good/lively/energetic
desu: am/is/are

You can also say “Watashi wa totemo genki desu”
watashi: “I”
wa: particle (subject marker)
Literal translation is “I am very good”

But subject (in this case “I”) can be omitted because context (who is good) is clear. And since question (”ogenkidesuka”) consists no subject (you), If I were you I will reduce subject (”watashi wa” part).

Another expressions:

OK/Not bad/So so. = “maamaa desu”
Couldn’t be better. = “zekkoucyou desu”

If you are *not good*

Not so good. = “amari yokunai desu”
Not good. = “yokunai desu”
Couldn’t be worse. = “saiaku desu”
